About Me
Renee Kostermans has been an artist her whole life but started painting murals in 2019. She has since created large-scale works in 14 countries. Known for her vibrant 3d murals, she brings walls to life with bold illusions and immersive depth. Her art spans a wide range of audiences from surreal street pieces to playful murals for in schools, orphanages, kids rooms, and nurseries around the world. In addition to murals, Renee paints on canvases, teaches mandala drawing classes and is dabbling in plein air painting.
Artist Statement
I am a mural artist with a growing passion for transforming public spaces through bold, immersive art. Most of my murals use 3D techniques to create a sense of depth and movement, but I have also painted orphanages, schools, and retreat centers. Whether I am painting in a bustling city or someone's home, I approach each surface with the same goal; to create something that resonates long after the paint dries. I like creating works that feel alive, something that pops off the wall, surprises you, or makes you stop in your tracks. My goal is always the same; to turn flat surfaces into moments of wonder.
In 2021, I spent a month in Lebanon painting a school for Syrian refugees. One of my most memorable experiences!
